LATEST SUSPECT NEWS:
|• UNUSUAL SUSPECTS OF CELTIC COLOURS TO PLAY CELTIC CONNECTIONS - 25 JANUARY 2017, GLASGOW ROYAL CONCERT HALL.
In October of 2016, The Unusual Suspects of Celtic Colours returned to the stage at the 20th anniversary of the fabulous Celtic Colours International Festival in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Corrina & David were invited back to the festival to collaborate with Cape Breton legend Allie Bennett and reprise the hit show they put together in 2004 and again in 2006. Read more about this collaborative project HERE.
This version of the Unusual Suspects featured some of the leading names in Cape Breton’s vibrant music scene. The line-up was completed by musicians appearing at the festival from Scotland, England, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Canada, including artists from The Barra MacNeils, Beolach, Flook and Mec Lir to name just a few. Celtic Colours has enjoyed a close, 20-year relationship with Celtic Connections and, coinciding with Canada’s 150th anniversary celebration of Confederation, are delighted to bring this unique gathering of world-class musicians to Glasgow for one night only. “A whole festival in one show!”

|• ALBUM DOWNLOADS
The Unusual Suspects now have their albums "Big Like This" and "Live In Scotland" available to download from the website!
The debut album "Live In Scotland" is unfortunately no longer available as an audio CD as it is now sold out and out of print.
The latest album "Big Like This" is, of course, still available to buy in audio CD format (£9) but now, for the first time, both can be downloaded (here or by clicking on 'SHOP') and both for the bargain price of £7.
You could also choose to download individual tracks (just 70p each), and you can listen to them in full before you buy.
Here endeth the sales pitch.
You may or may not have noticed, but it's been a quiet year for the band for various reasons that we won't go in to for now! But we sincerely hope to be able to let you know soon of some live dates for the future.
Thanks for reading.
• HAPPY OLD YEAR
The Unusual Suspects have enjoyed some great gigs in 2011 - Thanks to everyone who came along. We're trying our best to get as many dates as we can in 2012, so here's hoping it's on a stage near you!
• TRAD AWARDS
A heartfelt thanks to everyone who voted for us in the Live Act of the Year category. We had a good night at the Concert Hall in Perth, but the award went to a band who managed to get more people to vote for them than we did... (Well, that's pretty much how it works!) Well done to all the award recipients - an evening of great music and laughs.
• LIVE ACT OF THE YEAR?
We're delighted to be nominated in the Live Act of the Year gategory at the Scots Trad Music Awards 2011. Please take a minute to vote for us - it's not easy getting this band out on the road, and the publicity generated by one of these awards can make all the difference to us being able to play in a venue near you!
Far be it from us to try and persuade you, but you may also want to consider voting for some of our friends & colleagues:
The Pathhead Music Collective (Community Project of the Year)
Calum MacCrimmon (Composer of the Year)
Matheu Watson (Instrumentalist of the Year)
Rura (Up and Coming Artist of the Year)
Perth Concert Hall (Venue of the Year)

• SELL-OUT SHOW AT CELTIC CONNECTIONS!
We were delighted to see a packed house at our show in the Old Fruitmarket as part of the Celtic Connections Festival this year. Apologies to those of you who were trying to get tickets at the last minute to no avail - it seems the box office went into meltdown on the afternoon of the concert trying to cope! Well, we'll just have to play a larger venue next time...
To those who were there - thank you for making it such a great night! We had an amazing time and the atmosphere was just incredible! And if that wasn't enough, there was even more fun to be had later on when the band played a set at the Festival Club around 3.30 am! It was pretty rockin'...
